Born in South Africa, my journey into the natural health industry began in May 2001 when I joined an herbal medicine company. Witnessing the healing power of plants sparked a profound curiosity within me, leading me to explore this new realm of knowledge. To delve deeper into natural health, I ventured to London for studies in massage and beauty therapy, becoming a qualified Dr. Hauschka aesthetician. Upon my return to South Africa, I spent several years as a therapist until I decided to embark on a joint venture with my husband, running our own medicinal herb production and export business, Zizamele Herbs. For nine years, we focused on cultivating and processing indigenous medicinal herbs, during which I furthered my knowledge through a Practical Herbal Applications and Preparations course.

In pursuit of our dream to live in Scotland, we sold the business in 2013, arriving in Edinburgh with hope and anticipation. There, I had the privilege of working at Jan de Vries Healthcare, a company offering a wide range of health foods, supplements, and therapies, and had the opportunity to learn from the renowned naturopath, Jan de Vries, until his passing in 2015.

In 2018, I resumed my practice in massage and facial therapies and pursued my passion by enrolling at Formula Botanica in Scotland. By 2020, I earned diplomas in Organic Cosmetic Formulation. My interest in reflexology led me to The UK Complementary Therapy School, where I graduated as a clinical reflexologist in June 2021.

After spending nine fulfilling years on Scotland's west coast, we made a leap of faith and relocated to British Columbia in January 2022 to be closer to our family, now residing in Vernon.

My approach to treatments is holistic, focusing on tailoring each session to meet individual needs, promoting the well-being of mind, body, and soul. Creating products is an endeavour I cherish, involving thorough research, patience, and continuous refinement. I take joy in foraging from the wild and cultivating ingredients, allowing me to create unique, high-quality products from 'soil-to-bottle' with a sense of deeper purpose and local essence.

Amidst life's hectic pace and constant demands, my treatment room offers a safe haven, providing clients with an escape from pressures and stresses, allowing them to find stillness and rejuvenation. My ultimate goal is to leave clients feeling vibrant and in harmony with themselves and the world around them.

I first established Vibrant Harmonies while living in Largs on the west coast of Scotland for 9 years. My brand is symbolised by the Scottish thistle, a plant deeply rooted in history and meaning. Legend tells of a Norse invasion in 1263 in Largs, when a barefoot soldier stepped on a thistle and cried out, alerting the Scots and leading to their victory. Since then, the thistle has come to represent bravery, devotion, resilience and strength in Scottish culture.

Choosing the thistle as my emblem feels especially meaningful, as it was in Largs that my skincare formulation journey truly began. Though often dismissed as a weed, the thistle holds powerful medicinal properties—much like many of the plants I work with. It reflects my passion for herbal skincare and nature.

The thistle, a symbol of resilience, reflects my personal journey from Scotland to Canada. As a South African, I can relate to the idea of spreading like a weed – we live all over the world, adapting, thriving and taking root in new places.  When I immigrated to Canada, I left much behind, but carried with me my herbal knowledge and carefully developed skincare formulations.  

I faced many challenges, rebuilding my practice from scratch in Langley and later Vernon, creating new herb gardens, sourcing trusted local ingredients, while navigating an entirely new environment. It was a difficult transition and at times I wanted to give up, but the difficulty made me stronger and more resilient as I learned to let go and embrace the new. 

Purple, my favorite color, adds another layer of meaning. The thistle’s rich purple bloom has long symbolized royalty, nobility, and quiet strength. Deeply woven into Scottish heraldry, it represents both regal beauty and enduring resilience. Crowned in tradition and thriving in even the harshest landscapes, the thistle embodies a refined strength—where elegance meets endurance.

This skincare range reflects my story—one of adventure and adversity, shaped by devotion, perseverance, and growth. Like the thistle, it embodies beauty, strength, and quiet determination. This spirit lies at the heart of every product: a fusion of resilience and luxury, thoughtfully crafted to give your skin a truly royal experience while nurturing a deeper sense of harmony within.

For Christelle, caring for others is about more than a treatment - it is about seeing and valuing the whole person: body, soul and spirit. Her approach is grounded in the belief that we are wonderfully and intentionally created, and that caring for the body can be a simple expression of compassion, rest and restoration.

Through gentle, hands-on care, Christelle provides a peaceful place to slow down, release tension and simply be cared for. Her treatments are rooted in physical touch and attentive care, while her personal Christian faith shapes the compassion, integrity and heart with which she serves each person.
